Man Found Dead In What Police Say “appears to be consistent with a suicide” In Roanoke

On July 1, 2020 just after 11:30 a.m., Roanoke Police received a report of a person which we have learned is NAME REDACTED FOR FAMILY from a parking deck in the 100 block of Church Avenue SW. Responding officers located a deceased individual lying in the area below the parking garage. At this time, the incident appears to be consistent with a suicide. However, officers will continue to conduct a thorough death investigation.

Police spokeswoman Caitlyn Cline said that “the incident appears to be consistent with a suicide. However, officers will continue to conduct a thorough death investigation.”

The deceased was the owner of a Downtown restaurant which closed down in 2012 after 3 decades of service In Roanoke VA.
