New aerial footage is giving the community a fresh look at the Extended Stay America Premier Suites Hotel currently under construction in Vinton — a project that marks a major milestone as the first hotel ever built in the town.
A $12 Million Investment in Vinton’s Future
The new hotel represents a $12 million investment into the local economy and is expected to bring:
- 🏨 92 extended-stay rooms
- 💼 10 new jobs
- 📍 A prime location within walking distance of downtown Vinton
Town Manager Pete Peters highlighted the importance of the project, stating:
“The new hotel development demonstrates continued economic expansion in Vinton and advances the Town’s tourism position within the Roanoke Region. This project complements numerous revitalization efforts underway in Vinton, and we are excited to see it moving forward.”
Prime Location & Ongoing Changes
The hotel is being built at the intersection of W. Virginia Avenue and S. Pollard Street, placing it right near the heart of town and within reach of local shops, restaurants, and attractions.
As part of the development:
- 1st Street between Cedar Avenue and Virginia Avenue has been permanently closed and vacated
- Infrastructure adjustments are being made to support the new build
Construction Timeline & Progress
Construction on the hotel began in September 2025, with an estimated timeline of around 14 months.
That means — if things stay on track — Vinton could see its first hotel open in just a few more months.
