Breaking News: Roanoke Convenience Store Shooting – Clerk Hospitalized

ROANOKE, VA — October 30, 2025: Roanoke Police are investigating a shooting that left a convenience store clerk hospitalized Thursday night near Bridge Street SW and Roanoke Avenue SW.

Authorities say the incident occurred just after 9 p.m. at the 1 Stop Market, located only a few blocks from an entrance to the Roanoke River Greenway. When officers arrived, they found a store employee suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

According to police, the suspect entered the store, demanded money, and then shot the clerk before fleeing the scene on foot. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing white pants, a gray hoodie, a blue face covering, and a yellow hard hat.

Investigators remained on scene late into the night, taping off the parking lot and reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
