Lynchburg Police are actively searching for a suspect following a homicide reported Thursday evening around 7:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of Campbell Avenue, according to authorities.

Officers located a person suffering from serious injuries at the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Police have identified the suspect as John Levi Snead, 63, of Lynchburg. Investigators say Snead remains at large and was last seen in the area of the 800 block of Garland Street.
According to police, the incident stemmed from an argument that escalated into a shooting. Snead is facing multiple felony charges, including second-degree murder and several firearm-related offenses.
