Two Roanoke Teens Injured in Late-Night Stabbing; Police Searching for Suspect

ROANOKE, Va. — Two teenage boys were taken to the hospital Thursday night after a stabbing incident in southeast Roanoke, according to local authorities.

Roanoke police were dispatched around 9:36 p.m. on December 18, 2025, following reports of a stabbing in the 1000 block of Montrose Avenue SE. When officers arrived, they found two juveniles suffering from stab-related injuries.

Police say one of the victims, a 17-year-old male, was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The second victim, a 16-year-old male, was also taken for medical treatment and is expected to recover, as his injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators later determined the incident took place in an alley behind the 900 block of Penmar Avenue SE, though details surrounding what led up to the stabbing have not yet been released.

As of Friday morning, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large. Police are actively investigating and asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to contact the Roanoke Police Department at 540-344-8500.
