IT HAPPENED AGAIN! HOW MUCH MORE CAN THIS BRIDGE TAKE
The notoriously low railroad trestle on Wise Avenue SE near the Roanoke–Vinton line, Indian Rock Village and Tinker Creek appears to have claimed another truck.
If you’ve lived around Roanoke or Vinton for any length of time, you probably know this bridge. The clearance has been reported at just 11 feet, 3 inches, and trucks getting into trouble here is definitely nothing new.

At one point, Vinton Police said incidents involving trucks hitting the trestle were happening roughly every three to four months. One tractor-trailer that became wedged underneath reportedly took crews about seven hours to remove.
The bridge sits along Wise Avenue in the 2000 block, right around the Roanoke/Vinton boundary, and has developed quite the reputation over the years.
😳 How many trucks have you seen hit or get stuck at this bridge?
And the bigger question…
HOW MUCH MORE CAN THIS OLD TRESTLE TAKE?!
